16 December – Carols by Candlelight


‘Carols by Candlelight’ in one of the highlights of the year at St Mary’s Balham.  This traditional service begins at 6.30pm and is open to everyone in the community.  Join us as we prepare for Christmas by singing much-loved carols and hearing again the story of Christ’s coming into the world.

25 November – Christingle Service



Everyone is welcome to join us this Sunday, 25 November for our Family Christingle Service from 4.30-5pm.  During our worship we will celebrate Christ as the Light of the World, and afterwards we will make Christingles together as we enter the season of Advent.

‘Balham Remembers’ Centenary Observance

This Sunday, people across the UK will gather to mark the centenary of the Armistice that ended the First World War in 1918.  At St Mary’s, our main service will take place from 9-10am, so that we may take part in the ‘Balham Remembers’ observance, in which people from across our neighbourhood will participate. The observance begins at 10.45am at Bedford Hill Place SW12 9RJ (behind Sainsbury’s). Everyone is warmly encouraged to join us for this important event in the life of our community and the nation as a whole.

Wednesdays in August – Theology on a Summer’s Eve



Join us at St Mary’s at 7.30pm on the first four Wednesdays of August for ‘Theology on a Summer’s Eve’, an informal gathering to discuss some of the pressing social justice issues of our day.  The sessions will focus on the specific areas of poverty, inequality, displacement, and the environment.  All are very welcome.
