Holy Week and Easter at Home

Even though we are currently unable to meet at church, St Mary’s remains an active worshipping community from a distance. For information about ways to join us in observing Holy Week and Easter at home, please click here.  If you would like to receive emails providing links to online services, please contact the Vicar at vicar@stmarybalham.org.uk or on 020 8673 1188.

Coronavirus Update: Church Building Now Closed

As of 7pm on Sunday, 22 March, St Mary’s Church is closed until further notice.  This comes as the four bishops whose dioceses cover the London boroughs concluded jointly that all church buildings in their jurisdictions must close in light of the Coronavirus outbreak. Please continue to pray for each other, for our Church, and for our world as together we face the challenges ahead.

Observing Mothering Sunday at Home

Although we are currently unable to meet together at church because of the Coronavirus outbreak, we are still together in spirit. For readings and prayers related to Mothering Sunday, as well as community notices, please click here. The church will be open on Sunday for individual prayer, and the clergy will be present. All of you remain in our prayers.

Coronavirus Update: Services Suspended but Church Still Open

On the afternoon of 17 March 2020, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York issued a statement suspending all public worship in Church of England churches due to the spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19. This means there will be no services held at St Mary’s Balham until further notice.  The church building will remain open, however, for those who wish to come for individual prayer and meditation. More information to follow soon about ways we can continue to worship as a Christian community and look after one another and our parish during this challenging time.  Please contact Fr Robert at vicar@stmarybalham.org.uk or tel. 0208 673 1188 or Mtr Berni at curate@stmarybalham.org.uk or tel. 0208 ‭673 5987‬ for support.  And remember that God is with us!
